Trekking in Shan State (7 Days-6 Nights)
Route: Yangon-Heho-Pindaya-Kalaw-Inle Lake (trekking)-Taunggyi-Yangon

Days: 7 days- 6 nights

Day 1  Yangon Arrival

yangon12Upon arrival at the airport, after clearing immigration and customs, meet with your guide with a welcome signboard and transfer for about 30 minutes to the hotel for check in (if room is available).

You’ll first enjoy the city circular train ride, then visit Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda - with a 70-metres reclining Buddha statue, continue to tour Yangon with visit Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2000 years, the Maha- bandoola Park with it's Independence Monument and return to your hotel for a break at around 4:00PM.

At 5:30PM, pick up again and proceed to the Great Shwedagone Pagoda built the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics.

Day 2 Yangon-Heho-Kalaw (by flight)

Air Transfer RGN-HEH/ W9-201 @ 0730-0940 (or) similar

pindaya01After breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight to Heho. Then proceed by road to Kalaw. On the way we go and visit at Pindaya about 2 hours from airport which is located 40 km north of Aungban and noted for its extensive limestone caves and picturesque lake. We will be passing through the pa o and Danu villages of Pwehla endless fields of dry cultivated mountain rice and potato. Pindaya cave thousands of Buddha image placed there by pilgrimages over many centuries and paper making and umbrella making home cottage workshops.
In Pindaya, sightseeing, shopping and you will see the Shan people who own fair and soft skin. After that, proceed to Kalaw about 2 hours where a small hill station town and has English cottages that remain in good repair, some converted into cozy guest houses.  Arrive to hotel evening and take a rest.

Day 3 Kalaw- Htee Thein village full day trekking

Morning transfer to the trekking point at Baw Hnin Kone Village. From that point, your first day trek gets started for 1 hour and a half to Htun Done where you will have a lunch break. Continue to walk passing through plains for 2 hours to Khone Hla Village, a small village where you will have a beautiful scenic view of dotting white pagodas and houses.
Then another 4-hour walk to another destination, Htee Thein village (Pa O village), where you will get the pleasant view of plantations and will have a dinner. Spend your night at Htee Thein local monastery and get a unique experience.

Day 4 Htee Thein village-Inle Lake full day trekking

inle02After having your breakfast at the monastery, resume your trek to Inle Lake passing through different Pa O villages and enjoy panoramic views over the lake en route. Continue to walk down hill through an impressive gorge descending to the lake.
After trekking around 4 hours in the morning passing by Kyauk Su, Ngut villages, you will have a rest at Than Taung village for lunch in a monastery. In the afternoon, trek down for another 45 minutes to Khaung Dine village in the Eastern shore of Inle lake where your boat awaits you. End of the trip by transferring you to Nyaung Shwe jetty or your hotel on the lake.

Day 5 Inle - Indein sightseeing

inle01Inle Lake is often called the “Venice of the East.” Take some time to see the floating gardens and observe the lifestyle of the local people. Watch carefully and you can see boatmen paddle their craft with an oar using their foot.
After breakfast, to one village which turns for 5 day rotation market, an excursion to Indein Village is an option to end the day. You are here to see the ancient Bagan + Shan style pagodas, built during Bagan Period, passing the beautiful scenery with tall grasses and little water steps. The ruin pagodas, hide in the bushes will flash back the long gone days.
Then begins a day sightseeing by charter boat on Inle Lake floating village of Heya Ywama and weaving, Padaung tribes (long neck women) silk weaving village which the highlights are the unique and famous leg– rowering, typical floating hundred colorful market; floating garden and fishing method; Visits to Phaung–daw-Oo pagoda; Ngaphekyaung old Monastery to see the show of jumping cat.
After lunch Continue visit to Inpawkhon weaving village, own fish farm, fisherman net and cheroot making at Pauk Par village. Return to hotel on the way we pass through the Floating gardens of Hydroponic system (especially tomato, others vegetables).

Day 6 Inle Lake-Taunggyi-Heho-Yangon

HEH-RGN/ YJ-762 @ 1550-1800 (via Mandalay)

After breakfast, explore to Taunggyi the capital of Shan State about 40 minutes. This city got The Clear Township Prize in Myanmar. We visit around downtown of Taunggyi, Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda to see panoramic view of Taunggyi.
In the afternoon, transfer to Heho airport for your flight back to Yangon. On arrival Yangon, transfer to hotel and check-in. In the evening, we enjoy walk along the Yangon River and China Town there has many Myanmar snacks, small restaurants with local beer and BBQ and evening market.

Day 7 Yangon departure

After breakfast, free and leisure at your hotel until your departure flight. If you wish to go for shopping, the guide will pick you up about 10:00am from hotel and go to Bogyoke Market, the most famous shopping place in Yangon, afterwards we will escort you to the airport for your departure flight to Bangkok. Happy flight home!
